BIO

I am an Australian artist, fully immersed in life and the vibrant world of painting and printmaking. My previous works have been influenced by Realism, Impressionism, as well as contemporary illustrators such as James Gurney. My artistic style is evolving, but so far has encompassed a blend of classic and modern influences.

My artistic journey has been shaped by diverse educational experiences. My early educational pursuits included a Bachelor of Science with majors in Biology and Microbiology which I graduated in 2015. By 2018 I had decided to completely upend my life, and I moved from Sydney to Melbourne to study art and follow love. I completed a Certificate IV in Visual Arts that year, followed by a Diploma of Visual Arts (Fine Art) in 2019. Upon the completion of my Diploma I was honoured to receive the award for 'Best Overall Folio', leading to an art residency at Oak Hill Gallery. I continue to learn and (hopefully) improve via workshops and online short courses which are an ongoing joy. These educational pursuits have broadened my worldview and artistic understanding and expanded my creative techniques.

My work reflects a desire to seek the good, the true, and the beautiful in all aspects of life. I strive to infuse my art with meaning, capturing the essence of my subjects and evoking emotions in the viewer. I believe good art elicits a soul-level response in people, and this is my artistic goal for my future works.

At the core of my artistic expression are landscapes, urbanscapes, and the natural world. Through my artwork, I aim to uncover the inherent beauty of my surroundings, and to tell the story of the Australian visual experience. With time and contemplation I often discover unexpected layers of meaning and emotion.

Looking ahead, my aspirations encompass both the ongoing refinement of my craft and the exploration of diverse avenues for meaningful artistic expression. With every brushstroke and linocut, I continue to pursue the path of artistic growth, striving to create captivating artworks that inspire and resonate with viewers.
